Although the same assessments are used for all Wonderlic Select job openings, scoring and results interpretation are tailored to the requirements for specific job profiles. Wonderlic Select employs Wonderlic’s Jobs Engine technology to quickly identify and apply the ideal scoring profile for your job title.

The Jobs Engine uses the Department of Labor’s O*NET database as its foundation. But, we've combined O*NET data, covering just over 1,000 distinct jobs, with information gleaned from over 10 million resumes and LinkedIn profiles to create a truly extensive database of job profiles. Our data scientists have been able to develop an understanding of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for over 3.5 million unique jobs.

It takes only a few minutes to create a job opening and send a test invitation.

Creating a Job Opening

To begin, click on “Add Job Opening” on your Wonderlic Select dashboard or job openings page.

Enter the job title, click "Find Scoring Profile," and within seconds the optimal scoring profile will be assigned to this job title.

Entering a specific and detailed job title will yield the best scoring profile results.

Behind the scenes: Our Jobs Engine works hard to sort through millions of jobs to select the right scoring profile for your role.

The details of the scoring profile will be shown for review.

Selecting a scoring profile is an important step as it drives the job specific weighting and content in the results. When satisfied with a scoring profile, click Accept Scoring Profile. If you wish to view a different profile you can click Back to update the job title and search again.

After accepting a scoring profile you are able to enter details for the job opening.

Here, you can modify the opening name display and add a location, a hiring manger, add tags* to the opening.

Send Candidate Feedback Report and Follow Job Opening options are checked by default- allowing candidates to view their personal feedback report upon completing their assessment provides them with an improved testing experience by giving them insights into their results. These results are catered to the candidate and are not presented the same as the in-app results you see.

After saving your job opening details you can view and access the job opening from your dashboard view.

Note: Classic dashboard users will see the flow below

You can view the details of the cognitive, motivation, and personality requirements we've identified for the opening by clicking "View Details." You can also modify the opening name, location, and hiring manger, add tags* to the opening, and select to provide candidate feedback (recommended) and to follow the opening.

After you have made any desired updates, click "Save" to create the job opening.

Testing Your First Candidate

If you choose to test candidates right away, you're all set! Just navigate to your Job Openings page, find the opening you just created, and click anywhere on the job card.

On the screen that appears, you'll have the option to immediately test a candidate, or you can generate a Quick Apply Link to embed in a job board, your website, or candidate emails. To test a candidate right away, click on the "Test Candidate" button.

Then, you'll be prompted to enter the candidate’s first and last names and email address.

From this screen you'll be able to:

1. Select launch options

  • Email Invitation (Immediately send the candidate an access link.)

  • Onsite Access Code (Receive a code and instructions to test candidates on site.)

  • None (Invite or test the candidate at a later time.)

2. Select specific assessment activities you want your candidate to complete.

  • By default, all assessments are selected.

3. Indicate if the candidate is a non-applicant (Select if the test taker is a current employee experiencing the assessments for demonstration purposes.)
