Ask Wonderlic is an AI coach built into Wonderlic Develop that answers questions about your own results in plain language.
Overview
Instead of reading your Develop results once and setting them aside, you can ask Ask Wonderlic follow-up questions - "What does this mean for how I work with my manager?" or "Where should I focus first?" - and get answers grounded in your own results and Wonderlic's coaching guidance. Ask Wonderlic is available from your Develop Home page and from your results and Action Planner pages.
Open Ask Wonderlic
Go to your Develop Home page (or your Results or Action Planner page).
Click the Ask Wonderlic toggle in the page header.
The panel opens on the right side of the screen. The first time you visit your Develop Home, the panel may open automatically - if you close it, it won't open on its own again, but you can still open it manually any time.
Ask a question
Type your question into the message box at the bottom of the panel.
Press Enter (or click the send button) to send it.
The response streams in as it's written. If your connection drops while waiting on a response, your question stays in the message box so you can just try again - you won't need to retype it.
Resize the panel
Hover over the panel's left edge until the cursor changes to a resize cursor.
Click and drag left to widen the panel, or right to narrow it.
The panel won't go narrower or wider than a comfortable reading width, so your conversation stays readable and you can still see the page behind it. Your chosen width sticks for the rest of your visit, but resets to the default the next time you come back.
You can also resize it from the keyboard: select the panel edge, then use the arrow keys to adjust the width, or Home/End to jump straight to the narrowest or widest setting.
Start a new conversation
Click the new conversation icon in the panel header to clear the current chat and start over. This can't be undone.
What to expect
Ask Wonderlic's answers are grounded in your own assessment results, not generic advice. Conversations may be reviewed for quality, and no personal conversation data is used to train any model. Ask Wonderlic can occasionally make mistakes, so double-check anything important before acting on it.
When Ask Wonderlic points you to a Wonderlic help article, the link is clickable and opens in a new browser tab, so you can keep your conversation open while you read.
FAQ
Can I use Ask Wonderlic with someone else's results?
Managers, admins, and coaches who open an employee's results in Develop can use Ask Wonderlic to prepare for conversations about that employee. If someone shared their results with you directly, Ask Wonderlic isn't available on that view.
Does my resized panel width stay the same the next time I log in?
No. Your chosen width lasts for your current visit only. The next time you open Develop, the panel starts at its default width.
Is my conversation private?
Yes. Your manager, your account administrators, and your employer can't read your conversations. A small Wonderlic team reviews conversations on an anonymized basis to check quality - they see how Ask Wonderlic answered, not who asked. None of it is used to train any AI model.
Does Ask Wonderlic remember my past conversations?
No. Each time you open Ask Wonderlic you start fresh. It doesn't keep a history in your account or build a profile of you over time.
Why did Ask Wonderlic say it can't help with my question?
Ask Wonderlic answers questions about your Develop Results and your development at work. When a question falls outside that, it tells you so instead of guessing. You can rephrase the question or ask something else in the same conversation - there's nothing to retry, because the same question gets the same answer. If you see "Something went wrong. Please try again." with a Retry button, that's a different situation: a temporary problem that retrying can fix.
Can I use Ask Wonderlic on my phone?
Not currently - Ask Wonderlic is available on desktop only.
