Rolling out Develop at your organization is more than sending an assessment. A structured approach ensures people understand the “why,” use the platform, and build momentum over time.

Step 1: Clarify Your Rollout Goals

Ask:

  • What problem are we solving? (e.g., inconsistent 1:1s, unclear development plans, team misalignment)

  • Who needs to be involved first? (e.g., specific functions, new leaders)

  • What will success look like? (e.g., action plans created, 1:1s using Develop insights)

Step 2: Choose a Rollout Style

  • Cohort-Based: Ideal for building shared experience and momentum.

  • Team-by-Team: Great for integrating Develop into existing org structures.

  • Leadership First: Use leaders as champions before expanding to employees.

Step 3: Align Stakeholders Early

  • Meet with HR, L&D, and People Leaders to align goals and roles.

  • Pre-brief managers: show them what they’ll see and how they can use it in 1:1s.

  • Get buy-in from visible leaders to champion the message.

Step 4: Build a Communications Plan

  • Prepare messaging for each role (Admin, Manager, Employee).

  • Use consistent language: This is for development, not performance review.

  • Reinforce the rollout with multiple touchpoints: live kickoffs, emails, Slack posts, and optional drop-in support.

Optional: Certification for Internal HR/Admins

Wonderlic offers a Foundations Certification to help internal HR or Admins deepen their understanding of the assessment science and confidently guide rollout and coaching conversations. This can be especially helpful for teams leading large-scale or cross-functional launches.
