As a manager, you automatically gain access to your direct reports' Develop results. This includes their key insights, high- and low-effort attributes, and any development actions they've captured in the platform.

What You’ll See

  • Spotlights for Quick Insight: Each direct report’s homepage highlights their Critical, Least Effort, and Most Effort attributes, tailored to their role. These spotlights help you quickly understand what comes naturally to them, and where growth may require more support.

  • Effort-based Scoring: The scores aren’t about performance - they reflect how naturally someone demonstrates specific behaviors at work. Think of it as energy cost: higher scores = easier to sustain; lower scores = requires more intention and support.

  • Behavioral, Cognitive, and Motivational Data: You’ll see insights across three lenses: how they behave, think, and what work energizes them.

How to Use This in Your 1:1s

  • Start with Strengths: Acknowledge what comes naturally to your direct report. This builds confidence and can help anchor development efforts.

  • Ask Curiosity-Driven Questions: Try “What part of your work gives you energy?” or “Which of these results surprised you?”

  • Link to Role: Use spotlights to connect insights to everyday expectations. For example, if Organization and Planning is high, delegate planning-heavy tasks; if it’s low, offer structure and scaffolding.

  • Review Their Action Plan: Encourage small, meaningful goals. If no actions have been added yet, prompt them to choose just one area to focus on.

Tip for New Managers

If you're new to using assessment data, start with one direct report and build from there. Use Develop results to guide conversations and check in monthly to build habit and comfort.
