Employee Management is where you'll spend most of your admin time. Everything you do for a person — inviting them to test, releasing their results, sharing a report — starts by finding their row.

Employee Management, showing the counts, the search box, and the employee table

Overview

The Employees table shows everyone in your account. It loads more rows as you scroll, so there are no pages to click through.

You have three ways to narrow it down:

  1. Search — type a name, email, job title, department, or location.

  2. Filter — pick from Job Title, Department, Manager, Location, or Status.

  3. The counts — click one of the tiles above the table to see just those employees.

You'll need to be an account owner or administrator to see the full table. Coaches see only the employees whose results have been shared with them, and managers who aren't administrators see only their direct reports.

Search for an employee

Type in the Search box above the table. Search looks at seven things at once:

  1. First name

  2. Preferred name

  3. Last name

  4. Email

  5. Job title

  6. Department

  7. Location

You don't have to type the beginning of a word — searching ccount will find an Account Executive.

You can combine words from different fields. Searching Business Product finds the Business Analysts in your Product department and leaves out the Business Analysts elsewhere. The order doesn't matter.

Searching for a manager's name won't show you their team. It'll return the manager's own row only. To see someone's direct reports, use the Manager filter instead.

If a name uses accented characters, search the plain spelling - Renee rather than Renée.

Filter the table

Click Filter to narrow the table by:

  1. Job Title

  2. Department

  3. Manager

  4. Location

  5. Status

Each list shows only the values that exist in your account, so it stays short and relevant. If nobody currently has a particular status, that status won't appear as an option - it comes back once someone is in that state.

Picking more than one value in the same category widens your results rather than narrowing them. Choosing both Released and Expired shows you everyone in either state.

Remove a filter

Filters you've applied show as tags above the table. Click the × on a tag to remove just that one.

A Clear all button appears once you have two or more filters applied. With a single filter, remove it from its tag.

Archived employees

Archived employees are hidden from the table by default. To see them, choose Archived in the Status filter - this shows you archived employees only. You can't view archived and active employees together in the same list.

Use the counts as shortcuts

The six tiles above the table are clickable filters:

  1. Employee Records - everyone

  2. Ready to Test - added, but not yet invited

  3. In Progress - invited, and somewhere between opening the invitation and finishing

  4. Expired - their invitation ran out

  5. Pending Release - finished the assessment, waiting on you to release results

  6. Results Released - can see their own results

Click a tile to filter to it, and click it again to remove it. Click more than one to combine them. Employee Records clears them all and brings back the full list.

The "All Employees" count doesn't change when you filter. It always shows your account total, so you can see at a glance how much of your account you're looking at. The table itself is what reflects your filters.

Choose your columns

The table shows nine columns. Click Show/Hide to turn off any you don't need - Job Title, Department, Manager, Location, or Sent.

Last Name, First Name, Email, and Status always stay on.

Your choice is saved for next time, but it's saved in the browser you're using. If you sign in from a different computer or browser - or clear your browsing data - you'll see all nine columns again. Your choice doesn't change what your colleagues see.

Sort the table

Click any column heading to sort by it, and click again to reverse the order. The table starts sorted by last name, A–Z.

Two things to know:

  1. The Manager column can't be sorted. Use the Manager filter to group by manager instead.

  2. Sorting by first name uses preferred names. Someone whose first name is Katherine and preferred name is Abby will sort under A.

Select several employees at once

The checkbox in the header row selects everyone currently matching your filters, not just the rows you can see on screen. That's what lets you act on a large group without scrolling through it.

After selecting all, you can uncheck individual people to leave them out.

Changing a filter or your search clears your selection. Set up your filters first, then select.

If the table is empty

"No records found" means nothing matches right now.

  1. If you have employees in your account, check your search box and filter tags — something is narrowing the list.

  2. If you haven't added anyone yet, use Add employee in the top right to add someone or import a list.

If the table sits on a loading spinner and never finishes, refresh the page.

FAQ

Why can't I find someone I know is in the account?
Check whether a filter is still applied - filter tags appear directly above the table. If you followed a link from elsewhere in Develop, it may have arrived with a search already applied. Going to Employee Management directly from the menu gives you the full list.

Why does the count above the table say more than the rows I can see?
The counts describe your whole account. The table describes your current search and filters.

Why can't I search by employee ID?
Search doesn't cover employee ID. Use the person's name or email.

Can I set the columns for everyone on my team?
No - column choices apply only to you, in the browser you're using.

Why does a Coach see an empty Employees page?
Coaches only see employees whose results have been shared with them. Once results are shared, those employees appear.
