When a candidate finishes a Wonderlic Select assessment, they land on a "You're Done!" page. On its own, that's the end of the road — the candidate has no idea what happens next, and plenty of them simply close the tab.
You can change that. By adding a return address to your Quick Apply Link, you give candidates a Next button that sends them wherever you want them to go: the rest of your application form, an interview scheduling page, or your careers site.
Before you start: this one is more technical than most. Setting it up means editing a web address by hand and getting every character right, and how you send the links depends on the tools your team already uses.
If any of it looks unfamiliar, consider partnering with whoever supports your applicant tracking system, or your IT team, to explore what's possible with the systems you have — the right approach varies a lot from one setup to the next. There's no harm in reading on first to see whether it's worth doing.
How it works
Your Quick Apply Link is just a web address. You can add instructions to the end of it and Wonderlic Select reads them when the candidate opens the link.
Those instructions are called parameters, and they follow a simple, strict pattern:

To set a return address, the parameter name is returnToUrl and the value is the full web address you want the candidate sent to.
So a normal Quick Apply Link like this:

becomes this:
https://apply.select.wonderlic.com/A12BC3/YourCompany?returnToUrl=https://www.yourcompany.com/careers/next-step
That's the whole change. Use that new link wherever you'd normally use your Quick Apply Link.
Tip: A12BC3 is a short code that identifies the job opening — don't change it. The company name after it is display text only, so you can shorten the link by removing it, or replace it with a different name, and it still reaches the same job opening.
Two rules that catch people out
Wonderlic Select never warns you if a link is built incorrectly. A broken link still works — candidates still apply and still test — so the only way to know is to test it yourself.
Two details matter.
The name must be typed exactly

https://— Without it, Wonderlic Select treats your address as part of its own site rather than as an external destination, and the candidate lands on an error page.

The second row is the one worth testing for, because it looks completely normal right up until a candidate clicks.
Always click through your own link once before sending it to candidates. It is the only way to confirm the link works, because nothing in Wonderlic Select will tell you it doesn't.
What the candidate sees
After finishing every activity, the candidate sees the "You're Done!" page with a Next button and a short note that they're leaving the assessment. Clicking Next takes them straight to your address — there's no extra confirmation step:
Nothing happens until they click. Candidates are never redirected automatically, so nobody gets pulled away from the page before they're ready.
One trade-off to know about
Some candidates qualify for a feedback report about their own results, and normally they'd see a button on the "You're Done!" page to view it right away.
When you add a return address, that button is replaced by your Next button. Those candidates still get their report — it's emailed to them instead — but they won't see it immediately on screen.
If letting candidates view their results on the spot matters more to you than routing them onward, use your Quick Apply Link without a return address.
Changing where a candidate goes
The return address is locked in the moment a candidate opens your link, and it can't be changed afterward — there's no setting for it inside Wonderlic Select.
If you need to send someone to a different destination, give them a new link and have them complete a new assessment. In practice, this means it's worth getting the address right before you send anything out.
Using this with external candidate IDs
You can combine a return address with a candidate's External ID on the same link. Add the first instruction after a ?, then join the second with an ampersand (&):

FAQ
Do I need an integration to use this?
No. This works with any Quick Apply Link, whether or not you connect Wonderlic Select to another system.
Can I send different candidates to different places?
Yes. The return address is part of the link, so you can build a different link for each candidate, each role, or each stage — or use one shared link for everyone.
Are candidates redirected automatically when they finish?
No. They always have to click Next. If they close the tab instead, nothing happens — their results are already saved.
Can I see where a candidate was sent?
No. The return address isn't shown anywhere in Wonderlic Select after the candidate applies. Keep a record of the links you send if you need to track this.
What happens if I get the address wrong?
Candidates still apply and still complete their assessment normally — their results are never at risk. They'll either see no Next button, or a Next button that leads to an error page. Testing your own link once before sending is the way to catch this.
Does this change what the hiring team sees?
No. Results appear in Wonderlic Select exactly as they always do.
