As part of our ongoing commitment to assessment integrity, Wonderlic Select now includes an accuracy warning on Cognitive Ability results. This article explains what the warning means and what steps to take when you see one.
What is the accuracy warning?
The accuracy warning is an indicator that appears on a candidate's detailed results when our system detects an unusual response pattern during the Cognitive Ability assessment. This may suggest the use of outside resources (including AI tools or other forms of assistance) during the test.
Why did Wonderlic add this?
AI-assisted test-taking is an emerging challenge across the assessment industry. This warning is part of Wonderlic's broader investment in protecting the integrity of your hiring data.
Our goal is to give you greater transparency and confidence when interpreting candidate results without adding complexity to your workflow.
How often will I see this?
The accuracy warning is designed to be targeted. Based on historical data, we expect it to appear on a small percentage of candidate results. It is not intended to be disruptive to your normal review process.
What should I do when I see it?
Treat it as a signal, not a verdict — the warning identifies an unusual pattern, it does not prove that a candidate used outside help.
Consider retesting the candidate — we recommend inviting flagged candidates to retake the Cognitive Ability assessment in a proctored or supervised setting to verify their results.
Frame it appropriately — if you choose to retest, you can position the retest invitation as a standard part of your hiring process rather than an accusation.
Additional FAQs
Can I turn this warning off?
No. The accuracy warning is enabled by default for all accounts and cannot be disabled. It's designed to be lightweight and only surfaces when a response pattern is genuinely unusual.
Will I see warnings on older candidate results?
No. The warning only applies to Cognitive Ability assessment administrations completed after the feature was activated (Feb 2026). It is not applied retroactively to existing results.
Does this catch all forms of cheating?
No, and it's not intended to. This is one layer in a broader assessment integrity strategy. Wonderlic is continuously investing in new ways to protect the quality of your assessment data.
Where can I see the warning?
The accuracy warning is available on the new detailed results experience only. If you're not yet using the updated results view, contact your Customer Success Manager to learn how to enable it.
